WHO TOLD YOU SO?

Who Told You So?

The book of Genesis tells us about the creation of man and how man disobeyed the instructions of The Lord.

In Genesis chapters 1 and 2 we read that God created man: male and female, and in the image and likeness of God and gave them specific instructions about what to do and eat in the garden created for them.

Then we read in chapter 3 that Satan came and asked Eve a question: “Has God indeed said, “You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”

It sounded like a simple straight forward question however, it led to a more sinister wicked statement that questioned Eve’s identity;

Gen 3: 4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

God already made man in his image and in his likeness. They were already like God!

The fruit looked good, pleasant and desirable

The enemy was able to deceive Eve into believing that she was missing something, that she lacked something, that she was not exactly who God said she was; made in God’s image and likeness.

He never told her to eat the fruit, however when she evaluated her identity based on the information the enemy provided to her she looked like she was missing out on something and eating the fruit would bring her into that state of being like God.

However, eating the fruit also meant taking instructions from the enemy and bowing the knee to the eternal enemy of God. It was a conditional misrepresentation: eat this to become that. However, God never demanded anything from Adam and Eve at creation instead, He gave them everything

Suddenly, she experienced this intense desire to eat the fruit of this tree; to her, the fruit became good for food, pleasant to her eyes and desirable to make her wise. From that twisted wicked perspective the fruit looked so mesmerizing. She ate it and gave some to Adam who ate it and then, she realized she has been DECEIVED, TRICKED!

God came looking for Adam and Eve. He called for them and Adam replied from where they were hiding: 10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

Adam had a new emotion; Fear!

He also had a new consciousness, new awareness, new identity that he was naked, lacking and empty. Nakedness is not just being physically naked it also includes lacking whatever is necessary for a good life.

God asked them a question;

Who told you, you are naked?

God never told Adam he was naked, yet he totally believed he was naked.

That meant someone else is now his God and Master. Whoever you are taking instructions from is your Master. Man had a new master and it was not God and from generations to generations after Adam mankind was enslaved to that wicked master.

Let God Be You Only Source For Life

But, Jesus The Anointed of God came and by his blood and sacrifice washed away the sin of Adam. From that time all who believe in what Jesus did as our advocate and the lamb of God that takes away the wrath of God from all mankind, does not have to take orders from the enemy anymore.

Who are you listening too?

Who are you taking orders from?

You can identify the person speaking to you by comparing the thoughts in your mind to the written word of God in the bible. If they don’t match, they are not from God.

Do not evaluate your identity and future based on the lies of the enemy.

Ask yourself, “Who said it?

Ask yourself, “Who told me so?”

Don’t agree with the enemy, agree with God’s good plan for your life

One of the songs from my upcoming album ‘With All My Heart’ is titled; What Is Man. This song celebrates our identity in Christ – Man is a spirit and made to rule and reign on the earth like God rules and reigns in heaven.
