The spirit of man or the heart of man is special. It’s the real you. No man has seen the spirit of a man. Have you? Yet we can feel the effects.
Like the wind that can’t be seen but the effects can be seen and harnessed for good or bad, so also the works of and from the spirit of man can be seen with accompanying results.
When I started preparing the songs for my upcoming album, I had it settled in my heart that it was going to be a worship album. In many of my previous blogs we talk about the true worshipper and how God is searching for such a person.
This question; What do you do with all your heart? kept popping up in my heart.
I set my heart to find genuine answers to this question. Ah, the Bible that’s the Book of Life and a great place to start my search. As I read through the bible, looking specifically for answers to this question, I was pleasantly surprised at the large amount of instructions about what we are to do and not to do with all our heart that I discovered.
I have picked 8 of those points and highlighted them in the artwork accompanying this blog post I hope to stir up your curiosity to do a bible search yourself and see what you will learn and possibly be able to apply to your life in a positive way.
These 8 key points also have become the spring board for the songs in my upcoming album aptly titled;
‘With All My Heart.’
Points 1 and 2 are so important and we see Jesus talking about them in Matthew 22: 37 “Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
These are foundational to our faith.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.”
Through Jesus’ complete obedience to the will of The Father, these two laws were fulfilled. When we accept this understanding by faith in the new covenant between The Father and Jesus The Son we are invited to enjoy the benefits of these completed works and to: 1. Love The Lord Our God with all our heart 2. Love our neighbor as ourselves
True love for God and for our neighbor is of the heart. If our heart is disengaged it is not true love.
Engaging our heart in joyful pursuit, by doing things that bring joy to God’s heart and to our neighbor’s heart brings fulfilment to us now as seeds sown that we will reap from in our future and also rewards in heaven.
As God’s love container keep pouring out to the world from that which you have received from Him.
The lyrics of these songs reinforce this truth, while drawing you into a place of true worship and expressions of your love for The Lord.
