Happy New Year and welcome to 2024!
May this be a year of unending Joy for you and your family In Jesus Name!
As 2024 starts off we look at what makes a servant profitable.
As servants of God what makes us useful and of high demand in the service of God?
We look at the quality of being Single-Minded.
You see, The Father describes Himself in Exodus chapter 20 and Deuteronomy Chapter 5 as being “A Jealous God.”
Deuteronomy 5:8-10 King James Version
8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
The word jealous means – demands exclusive service.
God demands of us wholehearted devotion, and single-minded focused service.
He does not want to share us with modern day idols: any thought process, anything or anyone that draws us away from God and keeps us away from God. This might even be something legitimate but if the result is that we are separated from God then we need to review it.
Our single-minded devotion to praise, worship, thanksgiving, prayer and study of the word is pleasing to The Lord and makes us of high value in the Kingdom.
One way to stay on track is to plan out your time and do the plan. When you plan out your time and schedule time to study the word of God and pray you are declaring that God is priority in your life.
Another way to stay single minded is to be slow to speak and be quick to ask Holy Spirit for help in life situations.
Being quick to forgive and walking in love and as best as possible in peace with people will also lead to staying single-minded on God.
Peradventure you have not received Jesus as your Lord and Savior and would like to do so to guarantee where you spend eternity please say this prayer with me: “Dear Jesus, today I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that you have made a way for me to be forgiven of my sins by your blood I receive forgiveness of my sins today and ask that you will come into my life and live in me.
Take my life and use it for your glory In Jesus Name.
Draw near to God, read the word of God, find a Bible believing faith proclaiming church and get plugged into the body of believers and make 2024 a year of wonderful happenings in your life
